# Before, four spreadsheets copied by hand. Now the report comes out ready in a new file

The agent fills your company's spreadsheet template and hands back a new version with the template's formatting; the original stays untouched.

Oct 3, 2026

Ask the agent to fill this month's report in your Excel template. It writes the numbers straight from your other spreadsheets and saves a new version next to the template, without changing the original.

Before, someone opened four spreadsheets and copied the numbers into the report template, cell by cell. Now you ask for the monthly report and the agent hands back a new file, filled in and with the template's formatting. The template the accountant expects stays untouched. The agent could always add numbers; the problem was the spreadsheet, built for a person to type into. Siglata rebuilds that tool so the agent can do the whole job, from the number in the source spreadsheet to the finished file.

You ask in plain language. The agent pulls the numbers from your company's spreadsheets and writes them into your Excel template from the right cell, keeping the template's fonts, colors, borders and number formats.

The result is always a new file, saved next to the template. The original doesn't change. Ask again next month and you get another version with another name, and the earlier ones stay where they were. You open the new version, check it once and send it on.

The numbers go from the source spreadsheets straight into the new file. The agent doesn't copy them row by row through the conversation, so a report with thousands of rows comes out the same way as one with four.

Mogiana Distribuidora, a fictional company, has the template modelo-relatorio.xlsx, with a Relatório sheet and two columns: Filial (branch) and Receita (revenue, R$). Sales live in one workbook per branch. Helena asks Codex:

“Fill modelo-relatorio.xlsx with each branch's August 2026 revenue and save it as relatorio-agosto-2026.xlsx.”

The agent reads the four sales workbooks and writes four rows starting at cell A2 of the template: São Paulo, 540,000.00; Ribeirão Preto, 315,000.00; Franca, 240,000.00; Uberaba, 205,000.00.

The answer names the new file, relatorio-agosto-2026.xlsx, and the range written, A2:B5. modelo-relatorio.xlsx stays empty, ready for September.

A one-off correction works the same way. Helena asks to add September 2026 to the Uberaba workbook with R$ 210,000 in revenue, and gets a new version of vendas-uberaba.xlsx with July, August and the new row. The previous workbook stays in the drive.

Filling as a new version works today in Codex and Claude Code, with Excel workbooks. Connect your agent with one line, upload the template and the source spreadsheets, and ask for the report.
